The objective

Many people flock for a short getaway to Genting Highlands because of its high number of Leisure and Recreation activities available within a resort. This includes indoor and outdoor recreations as well leisure activities to pamper yourself with. Here are some leisure and recreation activities that might entice you.

1. Snowworld

2. Ohmega forces

3. Archery

4. Genting Bowl

5. Genting skyventure

6. X-pedition wall

7. Themeparks

8. Casinos

9. Cultural Village

10. Shows and concerts

1. Snow world - Going at no. 7 at our top 10

If the whole resort is not cold enough to give you the chills, you should try out the snow world. Here u can throw the artificial snows to your content and make a snowman(if u can manage one), not forgetting sliding down the snow slide. Although the snow might not make a white perfect Christmas, it is still worth the price that you are paying.

For pricing and regulations visit http://www.rwgenting.com/en/themepark/signature_attractions/snowworld/default.htm

2. Ohmega Forces

In this virtual gun simulator game, u can choose between 4 mock guns Glock, MP-5 assault, M-9 or M4-A to play. Choose to shoot targets or play interactively to gain ranks and get coupons redeemable for more games. It is a fun way to increase your aiming and if u live in a country where guns are illegal, this is definitely a must do for you.

3. Archery

Ever dream of stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor? Well, it easier said then done. Test your sharp shooting arrow skills with the Bull Eye as your objective. Challenge your family and friends and make a bet on the winner.

4. Genting bowl

Making its way to the no. 10 of the thing you must do in Genting is the genting bowl. What makes this place unique is the neon lights and “club” effects of the bowling alley with POP music as the background. If u think u are a good bowler, try your hands on bowling in the ambience and you will know why it made it to the top 10. Dance while throwing your balls and enjoy! Whats more, if u are staying at first world hotel, u are entitled to 1 for 1 game.

Visit http://www.rwgenting.com/en/themepark/games_facilities/ifm_bowling.htm for more information.

5. Genting Skyventure

Ranking at no. 6 of the must do in Genting. This is a closest simulation of jumping out of an airplane as u can get. If u have ever dream of jumping out of an airplane for a free falling at least once in a lifetime, try the skyventure first. With fast winds blowing u away, this thrilling ride will give u a blast and a feel of the real free falling experience. Just make sure u have the proper gear attached to you for your safety!

6. Xpedition wall

Maybe u have gone wall climbing before but every wall climber knows that every wall is different with different challenges and obstacles. With a small price of RM4 per climb, why not try the indoor wall and experience it for yourself. Maybe you can make it up in less than a minute, maybe u cant. Test yourself and test your friends. Plus it is a good workout after snacks at the kopitiam just beside the wall.

For more info visit http://www.rwgenting.com/en/themepark/signature_attractions/xpedition_wall/default.htm

7. Themeparks

At no 2 and 3 of our must do list is the indoor and outdoor themepark. One of the primary reason people visit this resort would be for the theme parks. With so many rides to choose from, indoors and outdoors, you are spoiled for choices. Two of my favorite outdoor rides are the cockscrew and spaceshot. But the queue can be heart aching if u don’t have the express pass. If I have to not recommend one outdoor ride it would be the monorail. It is shaped like a caterpillar and believe me, it travels like one too!

For more info visit http://www.rwgenting.com/en/themepark/rides/outdoor/default.htm

8. Casinos

Not making it to the top 10 of the must do list because of family oriented guidelines. However, this is yet another good primary reason why people visit Genting Highlands. From high rollers to losing gamblers and the social gamblers, the Genting casinos offer a wide variety of table card games, dice games, roulettes, wheel spinning and lots and lots of jackpot machines. For those who come here to try their luck but has a limited budget… the jackpot machines will do the trick. You can spend hours on the machines. One of my personal favorite is the jackpot party slots. Reason being I won RM500 by only spending RM10. But it can get addictive and one must know their limit and when to stop. If u are of legal age (21) just visit the casinos, if not for gambling, enjoy seeing others play and what’s more they have Hot Chocolate, Juices and Coffee on dispense (for free!).

9. Cultural village

Located at level 4 of the first world plaza is the cultural village where souvenirs meets culture. Here the stores named by asian countries and the souvenirs they sell are authentic to the country bearing on the store. From China to India to Korea and to Singapore. These are just some to name a few. Get your loved ones something affordable on your way back and get yourself a souvenir to remember Genting.

10. Shows and concerts

Genting Highlands is definitely a city of entertainments, guest artiste, well known acts and shows, and concerts have been held there. I went to one of their circus show, “Dreamz”. It was a world class performance of stunts and acrobats. Not to mention an act of 5 motorcycles riding around a sphere at the same time. The act also featured white lions and tigers and having to have a photo shoot with them is a plus point. But sadly, I don’t think they have that circus act anymore at Genting Highlands but not to worry, there is the “Glitz” show which also feature acrobats now on. Don’t miss your chance to watch the limited time only concerts and acts while you are there.
