Awana was a wonderful resort! I loved my stay there as it is big, has all the amenities - gym, spa, Jacuzzi, nice swimming pool (loved the hot bubble pool there!)....they have their own golf course. It has a nice architecture and I just enjoyed hanging around inside the hotel premises. Downside? It's away from the main hub, which means you got to catch their shuttle service (provided by the resort as a facility) but it's frequent. Also, I personally loved the location as the view was good and the surrounding area was peaceful.......the rooms were good undoubtedly! And yes, a decent in-house cafeteria. All in all, strongly recommended....

Nice location- far from the madding crowd. Away from the crowd - that is what we love! No theme parks, no expensive, fast food, noise 2nd hand smoke, etc. The place is a little old but our room (a Deluxe), was relatively clean and spacious ( only a Queen; we requested an extra bed for 30 ringgit extra)) with a nice view too. No shower, so had to bathe the kids in the tub. There is a ceiling fan and a safe. The hotel has a temperature controlled swimming pool but we just did not had time to use that. A free shuttle brings you to the cable car station every half hour, so for those who still want to go up to the theme parks, it not a problem (4 free complimentary return tickets for the cable car were provided, so we went for a joy ride). The place provides enough space for the kids to run about safely - which was why we chose to stay here. Awana Gentings is close to GohTong Raya town (5 minutes by the free shuttle) with many Chinese restaurants. - So that was where we had our dinners. Do note that vendors offering roasted chestnuts, strawberries, etc may approach you while you are having your meals. There is also a small strawberry, vegetable and mushroom farm at the town. The kids had got a fun picking strawberries.

No better place to stay in Genting. What a hotel, seriously, amazing! The location is absolutely fantastic! It is not located on the highest part of the highlands alongside first world and Theme park hotel, but why would you want to be there? That area of genting is too crowded, too many people, too much noise and NO scenery, apart from the clouds in your windows. Awana is different, is located at the bottom of the cable car in a seriously amazing surroundings. It is hard to describe the kind of views you get at this place, even breakfast is served in a hall where one wall of the hall is open to the view and it is simple astonishing! Rooms are not only clean but delightful and really do make you feel relaxed. We stayed in a deluxe room and we only wished we had stayed there a night or two longer because of how scenic the whole thing was. Breakfast was included with our room and it was amazing. The rang of foods is quite a lot, it doesn’t change from day to day, but with the amount o food they give it doesn’t really matter. You will be happy with the breakfast and you will be full. The golf course is nice, full 18 I believe but I didn’t go on it because I suck at golf. I tried the shooting range but I was rubbish at that too! There is a shuttle every 30 mines to the skyways cable car and they even provide you with the tickets so you do not need to purchase them. I can’t comment much on the service as to be honest I didn’t really use it. Though they seemed rushed with the amount of people but I guess it is a busy place! Oh and they couldn’t find my booking for a while so perhaps they need better organization. Don't stay with the First world lot; you are missing a treat if you do!

If you enjoy pampering, luxury and space - this is it. Special extras abound including valet parking, savvy managers on duty, a slick check-in, automatic waste bin (!), all-glass furniture in the bed and bathrooms, a long pillow menu and the Aigner toiletries. Maxims is top notch all the way. The breakfast buffet offers an extensive high quality selection to please all tastes, while the fine dining options are also impressive. Genting as a destination has changed a great deal in the last decade and elevated itself from tacky to tasteful. There is definitely something for everyone from the thrills of the theme park to the gambling and shows. Spoil yourself. You'd be hard pressed to fault this place - our only gripe was the slight smell of smoke getting into the rooms.

We are not quite used to paying as much as we did for a hotel room at Maxims, but once we arrived, we realized we were not quite used to staying at a hotel as nice as Maxim's either! In other words, it was worth the money for a special occasion like our wedding anniversary. Most impressive to us was the attention we received from the staff, from the moment we checked in until we left the hotel. The Club Manager was especially friendly and went out of his way to engage us in thoughtful conversation. At breakfast, shortly before check out, he picked up that it was a special weekend for us and managed to organize a bouquet of flowers for my wife just prior to our departure! What a nice send-off for a pleasant stay.
Liked — The staff was incredible. Very professional and extremely helpful throughout our stay!
Disliked — Just a little difficult to find once we arrived in Genting Highlands. Unless you already know that the Maxims is inside the Genting Hotel, you have to ask around. Since we arrived by car in the middle of a rainstorm it was a bit difficult to do. Some signage for Maxims would be helpful.
Tips/Secrets — The Chinese Temple, just down the road is fantastic! Most certainly worth a visit on your way up the hill or down!

We went to this place because we heard a lot about it and wanted to experience it too. We booked two rooms in the beautiful maxims. And were delighted by the experience we had. The rooms are the most attractive place in there. Huge and spacious rooms with king size beds and also a walk in closet and the last a colossal bathroom that has everything including a T.V and what else can you expect. And for the ladies their own personal dressing table and for the busy business men a small business centre in your room itself. when you jest can’t get enough of this there is a indoor park not only for the kids but everyone, it feels as if you are in a small wonderland a rollercaster, haunted house, a ice house where it is below zero digress all the time forever, etc etc and for the food lovers it’s a heaven with its finger licking food of all verities and cusines.this is a place you cannot miss. And the last it has its own cable car ride may be the longest for about a good 15 mines which connects you with the other hotels and places. People this is a place for relaxation and distressing, go for this one if you don’t believe me try yourself. It will be a remarkable experience.

Great bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, nice working table, 24 hours room service and butler, fantastic reception. Maxims Hotel is part of Genting Hotel; of which the lobby is tucked away from the busyness of the rest of the hotel, just after the common lifts. The rooms at Maxims were fantastic! There was a walk-in wardrobe which was connected to the bathroom that came with a mounted TV. View from the room was fantastic! The butler service came as a surprise and the hotel provided not only breakfast, but late afternoon tea as well. Overall, it was a great experience with almost nothing to fault! Cons - Internet access can be a little off sometimes
Hotel Feature Tip: If you feel cold, you can ask for a heater... but you should really just enjoy the coolness of the highlands

Good value for price but very basic. At the price it is hard to complain, but the rooms are very small and basic. The included buffet was also very basic.
Great views and lots to do. Genting is worth a visit for a couple of nights, but it's not somewhere I would go back to for a second visit

First world hotel is one of the best hotel listed in the Guinness book of records for more than 6000 rooms plus all fun activities under one roof. Casino & night clubs, roller coaster, food, shopping n etc etc.. I stayed there for very short period of time but it was nice. My room was at 22nd floor. This hotel is at the top of the hill, you can go there by ropeway / cable car or by road. Cable car would be more fun as it is one of the longest in Asia. Weather is always good close to 20'c, few people wear warm cloths :) The view from the room was awesome.. clouds were down the hotel as if the hotel build in the sky and the world in down in there.. amazing place to be fulfill your dreams under one roof. Hotel staff and rooms are great .. no complains at all. World class infrastructure.. Be there to enjoy at fullest.

Prompt Room Service, Accessible to most of the facilities.
I have been to first world hotel a couple of times but it is my first time staying in the superior deluxe room. We have the room overlooking the outdoor theme park. Much better than the usual standard rooms I had stayed in. I am amazed at the speed of room service as well
Sightseeing/Attractions
Tip: buy all parks - one day unlimited ride pass is much worthwhile. These are the rates for world card member. (Application is free)

We stayed in Genting Highland for a day. The hotel is very near to the outdoor theme park. Our check-in was only at 2 PM. So we went directly to the theme park came back at 3 and went to our room. The room was spacious and clean. we then took rest for some time and spent the rest of the day in Genting. We even tried our luck at the casinos but we only lost money !!
We had a good night sleep and left in the morning. Buffet Breakfast at Happy Valley restaurant was good with a variety of dishes. We enjoyed it.
Overall the stay was good and comfortable.

Great value for money. IN ONE LINER - YOU PAY 3 STAR RATES FOR a 4 STAR SERVICE, Very good location, just outside the outdoor theme park. Great connectivity through escalators and covered walk ways. We were very warmly greeted at the Reception and were upgraded to the room on higher floors. The check in process was very smooth and efficient, with the bell service brining our luggage to the room. We stayed on the 11th floor with theme park views. It was just magnificent to see the rides below and the foggy weather outside. The breakfast was great (we being vegetarians), with lots of vegetarian options. Highly recommended for tourists if you want value for money. I got the deal for RM98 per night including breakfast for 2 people for the deluxe room. Book in advance to get good deals. The only disappointment was that they did not have any in room service. They were not able to provide us even with dinner plates which we requested.

Fantastic stay at Theme Park Hotel. Check-in to Theme Park Hotel at 5pm and was surprisingly fast and was given a room immediately. Stayed in Family Room 9221 in the main building with aerial theme park view. Rooms were newly renovated, well-maintained and spacious. Room comes with a dining table, renovated bathroom with bathtub, safe, refrigerator, 2 bottles of drinking water and the basic toiletries were all provided. Room service was prompt and helpful when we requested for extra blankets and towels. Although the lobby was not as fanciful as First World Hotel or as grand as Resort Hotel, it was small yet cozy and quiet. Not as crowded and chaotic as First World Hotel. There are several eateries in the lobby. Including Hainan Coffee House, Mary brown and Watson's. Across the road, one can also find Old Town Coffee House, a convenience store and a cheap canteen. The entrance to the Theme Park is literally at the door step. One can walk to First World Plaza via the outdoor Theme Park, or the covered link way. One can also be connected to the Casino at Resort Hotel, a mere 5 min walk from hotel. Check out was also speedy, and again no queue. Front desk service was friendly throughout our stay. Security guards can also be seen to patrol around the hotel, especially in the night. One thing great about this hotel is that you can return to your hotel room to rest or escape from the rain/fog during the temporary closure of the outdoor Theme Park. The next time we return to Genting, we will for sure be returning back to Theme Park Hotel. Excellent value for money! 3-star lobby, but 5-star rooms, service and location!
11 February 2011,
Affordable perfect location. Been to genting 6 times. Stayed here twice. The location is perfect. Right outside the theme park. I love the weather compared to sunny Singapore. Easy access to indoor theme park, shopping. Room is spacious, clean. However alot of moths outside the window. I woke up overlooking the clouds. Breakfast experience was not good though. The food was fine.

Stayed in a deluxe room from 16th – 18th September 2010 with a mountain view on a complimentary basis.
I like the room (so much better than First World Hotel (deluxe room) and Theme Park Hotel (superior room). The room has everything you need i.e. coffee & tea making facilities, 29 inch TV (with in house movies), fridge, safe deposit box, writing desk and two lazy chairs. Two complimentary bottled water provided on a daily basis.
The bathroom is huge with standing shower. Shampoo and shower cream come in a dispenser. They do provide toothbrush, shower cap and bath soap.
Non smoking floor is available. If you a light sleeper, request for a non-connecting room as you hear every single conversation of your neighbor.
Although the hotel is currently under renovation, you could hardly hear the noise from your room.

We visited genting because of its theme park. This is a huge hotel, plenty of rooms and great view of Kula lampur Petronas tower and hill of genting highlands.
We enjoyed the stay. Buffet food was nice and good Indian food was served. Theme parks are just attached to it.
For Children theme park indoor and outdoor both are nice to enjoy. Great roads are made and also ropeway to reach here.
Hotel has nice rooms, lifts, interior, latest amenities for a perfect family holiday.
Enjoyed the stay!

What we needed for a relaxing night. Genting itself can be an intense place, especially during the peak seasons. So we wanted a hotel which was not busy and most importantly, could provide us with comfort and relaxing moments. After a good long drive, the stay at the Resort Hotel was very much needed and we were not disappointed. Indeed, the price of rooms was more expensive than the other hotels nearby but it was kind of worth it. The buffet spread during breakfast was superb with a variety of choices for a hearty breakfast. There's a drop-in luggage service which the hotel provides should you need space to leave your bags after you have checked out and still want to explore genting. I remember seeing the beautiful clouds really up close with my husband from our room window.

Much better then First World Hotel nearby. It's was a free stay through Genting membership Card reward. The cold air above 6000ft, theme park for my kids and casino for my night entertainment.

Genting Permai Park and Resort in Genting Highlands was a convenient and comfortable stopover. The guesthouse is well located in town, close to the centre. Beds were too soft for us, but otherwise the rooms were fab! Really friendly staff made our stay so comfortable.

The reception was fast and the lady staff was friendly and helpful. I ever stayed in this hotel many years ago and I found that the hotel has been renovated and looked really new. The room was clean and spacious and I like the bathroom design, especially the big rain shower head on the ceiling although there was no bathtub inside. I paid for what I get and I will definitely come back to this hotel again

The best integrated resorts, I’ve ever stayed. At over 5000ft above sea level, this is one of the best casino resorts I've visited. With very large theme parks both indoor and outdoor and hundreds of stores for your shopping spree, it is the best a family can get.

Staff is friendly, courteous and very helpful. Varieties of food-splendid and very nice (Food are Halal). Facilities are excellent including shuttle service bus to the Resort World plus the complimentary 2 return ticket to the Genting Skyway. Love the place and will like to come again.
Seri Malaysia Genting Hotel

Hotel Seri Malaysia, Genting Highlands, Malaysia
Best suited for families with own transport and willing to cut some corners by compromising a bit on the distance from the Genting highland.
As with any other Genting hotels, the rates are seasonal here with all the customary peaks and super-peaks. But being at down-hill, the rates are comparatively less than the hotels at top with a super-peak period rate of 200MYR for a standard room.
Hotel's located amidst a non-descript shopping complex at Gohtong Jaya. That said rooms are neat, well maintained and comes with all standard amenities.
Housekeeping standards are good and if ever you end up finding something not in order, the staff's willingness to help negates for it.
The room windows open to the adjacent plots and bushes - definitely disappointing for those in the lookout for deep valleys or misty mountain views.
Reception desk and hotel staff are helpful in putting up to our needs and check-in was a breeze despite the peak crowds. Breakfast is typical continental spread with some Malay
dishes and altogether making it an average to good one.
Cable car station is 2 minutes away and so is the Genting strawberry farm. All in all, fits the the bill for those who'd want to enjoy Genting yet stay away from the overrated hotels on top.

This hotel is about 25 minute walking distant from the skyway genting. The hotel is facing the road. the service that I experience for 2 night stay at this hotel is good. The staff do their best to ensure our stay at their hotel with good experience even though the is no night event around the hotel only lots of Chinese restaurant, 7eleven and India Malay restaurant. But the morning view is very nice..We book superior room with two single bed. We were surprise to see our room is so big with large window and facing the rood. We can see genting light at night from the window. The room provide aircon, fan, fridge, tv has a good gastro channel for adult and kids. The toilet only provide shower and no bath. The shower heater sometime not functioning well. Sometime we get very cool water even though the heater is turn on. The restaurant is big with limited selection but still ok. This place is very quite with nice weather. We not recommend this hotel to people who love night events
